Baseball Recap: South Takes a Loss

If South was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Roosevelt on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell 4-0 to the Bishop Amat Lancers on Wednesday. Considering the last time the Spartans couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dane Rhodes, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base. Rhodes has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

South's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Bishop Amat, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

As of now, neither South nor Bishop Amat have any future games scheduled.
