Baseball Recap: Menifee County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Robertson County on Saturday, Menifee County came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 6-2 to the Berea Pirates on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Menifee County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Masters, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Masters is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Bradley Davis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Menifee County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Berea, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menifee County will challenge Bourbon County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats are facing the Colonels at the right time seeing as the Colonels are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Berea, they will square off against Burgin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.89 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
