Baseball Recap: Mullen Mustangs vs. Grandview Wolves

Mullen extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-9. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grandview Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 on Thursday.

As for Grandview, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.
