Football Preview: Macksville Mustangs vs. Stafford Trojans
The Macksville Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Stafford Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stafford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Macksville, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Macksville made easy work of Ness City and carried off a 34-14 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Macksville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Orion Guevara, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown. Guevara also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending a pass. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rose, who gained 122 total yards and two touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Macksville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Meanwhile, Stafford fell victim to Central Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cougars on the road and fell 48-0.
Macksville's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Stafford, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
