Baseball Recap: Lodi Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Lodi got themselves on the board against Del Campo on Tuesday, but Del Campo never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Cougars. This was payback for the Flames, who suffered a 5-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Landon Beasley, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Del Campo off the board. Beasley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlie Casazza was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Rylan Takahashi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Campo struck out eight times.

Lodi is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Del Campo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12-1.

Lodi wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against Ponderosa on the 15th. As for Del Campo, they will face off against Woodland Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
