Volleyball Game Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles

The St. Mary's Rams will head out to face off against the Del Oro Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Mary's is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

St. Mary's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Vacaville 3-0. The Rams not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 3-0).

St. Mary's walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Del Oro didn't have quite enough to beat Granite Bay on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as three sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 25-17, 27-25, 24-26, 25-27, 15-9.

Del Oro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-13 record this season. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 14-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

St. Mary's couldn't quite get it done against Del Oro in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
