Basketball Recap: Tri-Cities Christian Eagles vs. Varsity Opponent
The Tri-Cities Christian Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Varsity Opponent 120-80 on the road. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Noah Cocolough had a dynamite game for Tri-Cities Christian, scoring 30 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Cocolough pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bradden Fields, who scored 11 points.
Tri-Cities Christian's win bumped their record up to 22-10. As for Varsity Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 358-1291-2 record this season.
Tri-Cities Christian will take on the Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Unicoi County is ranked 119th, while the Eagles are ranked 139th).
