Volleyball Recap: Fayette County's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Fayette County lost against Starr's Mill back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers fell 2-0 to the Panthers. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Fayette County ultimately came up short, they really made Starr's Mill work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-18.

Fatima Cesaire paced Fayette County's offense, picking up seven kills. Cesaire got some help from Brooke Logan-James and her 14 assists. Finally, Makaila Foster kept Fayette County's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Starr's Mill can attribute much of their success to Sophia Olson, who had nine digs and two assists.

Fayette County's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Starr's Mill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Fayette County has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Eagle's Landing on the 23rd. As for Starr's Mill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Strong Rock Christian on the 23rd.
