Baseball Recap: Hollis Takes a Loss

Hollis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sayre Eagles. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Parker Sykora was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Klay Seddon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Hollis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Sayre, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Hollis will face off against Merritt at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sayre, they will host Cordell at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
