C.B. Aycock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Smith, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alonna Frederick, who earned 14 points.
Meanwhile, Fike was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Smithfield-Selma 67-19. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 26 points or more this season.
C.B. Aycock better keep an eye on Jamaria Freeman. She was instrumental in Fike's win, going 13 of 21 on her way to 31 points and eight boards. Freeman's evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylar Horvath, who went 6 for 14 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.
Fike smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.
Fike's victory was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. As for C.B. Aycock, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
