Basketball Recap: Brookfield Takes a Loss

Brookfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 112-63 loss at the hands of the Amistad Wolves. The Bobcats lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 46-41 score last time.

Amistad got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dakarai Samuels out in front who went 8-for-11 to rack up 20 points along with eight steals and five assists. Those 20 points gave Samuels a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Foster III, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten assists.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Amistad, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield and Nonnewaug will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Amistad will take on Foran in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
