Baseball Recap: Wasilla Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lathrop

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wasilla). They walked away with an 18-14 victory over the Lathrop Malemutes on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Ramon Guzman made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, LaLo PaLomares was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jimmy Lackey was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Wasilla's win bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Lathrop, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Wasilla will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Malemutes: the pair will be back at it again later today.
