Baseball Game Preview: Platte Valley vs. Douglas County West Falcon

Platte Valley will face off against the Douglas County West Falcon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Platte Valley fell victim to Seward and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, Platte Valley's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Douglas County West might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Wayne who claimed the real prize. The Falcon fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4.

Douglas County West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Willmott, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Platte Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Douglas County West, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
