Baseball Recap: West Morgan Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

West Morgan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past the Elkmont Red Devils 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Carter Stephens was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

West Morgan pushed their record up to 13-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Elkmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Coming up, West Morgan will take on Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkmont, they will head out on the road to square off against Whitesburg Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
