Softball Recap: Estero Takes a Loss

Estero was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gulf Coast Sharks. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ava Weinbaum made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Klatt, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Estero's record is now 11-10. As for Gulf Coast, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Estero will host Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gulf Coast, they will head out on the road to take on Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
