Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Weddington's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Weddington won the last time they faced Porter Ridge, and Owen Conklin did his part to make sure it happened again. Weddington blew past Porter Ridge 3-0 on Thursday thanks in part to Conklin, who had ten digs and seven aces. What's more, he posted three assists, the most he's had over his last seven contests.

Weddington was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-21.

Weddington has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Porter Ridge is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Weddington will face off against rival Tournament Opponent at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Porter Ridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
