Baseball Recap: Liberty Extends Winning Streak to Four

Liberty extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 15-7 in the process. They put the hurt on the Yosemite Badgers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Daniel Sandate was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Liberty got a big performance out of Colton Azevedo, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tyce Perez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

As for Yosemite, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Yosemite's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Marmon, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Liberty will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Badgers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
