Armstrong (Kennedy) strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mechanicsville Mustangs a 37-0 shutout. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Mustangs are ranked 260th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anthony Hansom produced another solid effort rushing for 54 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 184 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. Shadarus Pickett was another key player, rushing for 105 yards on only seven carries.

Armstrong (Kennedy)'s record now sits at 10-0. As for Mechanicsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
