Basketball Recap: Chenleigh Robinson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Randleman over Providence Grove

Randleman fought the good fight in their overtime match against Providence Grove on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Providence Grove Patriots by a score of 43-40. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Randleman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chenleigh Robinson, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacquline McDaniel, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Randleman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Randleman's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Providence Grove, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

Randleman will head out to challenge West Forsyth at 12:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Providence Grove, they will welcome Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
