Softball Recap: Eagle Point Beats Churchill for Their Third Straight Win

Eagle Point had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the Churchill Lancers 12-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

Kady Lindstrom was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Sarah Estes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Eagle Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Eagle Point's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Churchill, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.

Coming up, Eagle Point is taking a road trip to challenge North Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. Churchill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
