Basketball Recap: Bradford Tornadoes vs. Union County Fightin' Tigers
While Bradford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Union County Fightin' Tigers by a score of 60-49 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tornadoes also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2018.

Bradford found their leader in sophomore Jordan Cason, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cason has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jy'Quez Cason, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards.
Bradford was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union County only racked up six assists.
Despite the loss, Union County still got an impressive performance from Gavin Jenkins, who went 11 of 19 on his way to 28 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Jenkins has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Folaji, who posted seven points.
Bradford's record now sits at 5-2. As for Union County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Bradford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-48 win against Middleburg on the 20th. After both having extra time off, Union County and Keystone Heights will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Union County is facing Keystone Heights at the right time seeing as Keystone Heights is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
