Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Manhattan

With a playoff win on the line, Manhattan rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They snuck past the Sweet Grass County Sheepherders with a 52-47 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Sheepherders are ranked 32nd).

Manhattan's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Sweet Grass County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Manhattan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sweet Grass County, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Shepherd at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sweet Grass County is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Shepherd a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
