Basketball Recap: West Lincoln Rebels vs. Lincolnton Wolves
West Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 64-21 loss at the hands of the Lincolnton Wolves. The Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Lincolnton found their leader in sophomore Curmiya Tillman, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tillman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sarah Rhyne, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.
West Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Lincolnton, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11.
Looking ahead, West Lincoln will head out to take on East Burke at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Burke knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully West Lincoln likes a good challenge. As for Lincolnton, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bandys is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
