Baseball Recap: Lake Park's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Lake Park dropped their record down to 15-14 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell 4-1 to the St. Charles North North Stars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the North Stars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Tuesday.

Anrhony Durava was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lake Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Mohapp, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for St. Charles North, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games.

On St. Charles North's side, they got a great performance from Emerson Miller as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.1 innings pitched. What's more, Miller posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last two matches.

While Lake Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
