Basketball Recap: Drew Wilkas Key Part of Team Effort in Tigers Win

The Princeton Tigers strolled past the Charlestown Pirates with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 68-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Princeton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Wilkas, who shot 75% from the field en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Wilkas a new career-high. Edwin Holmes was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double with 13 points, 14 boards, and nine assists.

Princeton was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up eight more assists than Charlestown's also-impressive total of ten.

When it comes to explaining why Charlestown lost, don't look at Anthony Fresh. Despite the final result, he posted 28 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keevin Bowman, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 11 points and seven boards.

Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Charlestown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Princeton will take on Lawrence North at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Charlestown, they will square off against Southport at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
