Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Christian vs. Cannon

The Charlotte Christian Knights will face off against the Cannon Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Charlotte Christian fell victim to Providence Day and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Providence Day are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Cannon entered their contest against Legion Collegiate Academy on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-1.

This is the second loss in a row for Charlotte Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Cannon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.

Charlotte Christian beat Cannon by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
