Whetstone got themselves on the board against Linden-McKinley on Wednesday, but Linden-McKinley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Braves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jillian Nelson and Avery Bair made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Nelson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bair struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Nelson went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Bair scored a run and stole two bases.

In other batting news, Kensie H was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lija Barzdukas, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Whetstone has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whetstone will venture away from home to square off against Dublin Scioto at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Linden-McKinley, they will head out to face off against Mifflin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
