Baseball Recap: Richfield Comes Up Short

Richfield extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-17. They lost 16-5 to the Manti Templars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 17-16 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Hayden Hansen was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

As for Manti, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games.

On Manti's side, Spencer Robbins made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Robbins was even better at the plate, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Stephen Robbins was excellent, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Adam Andreason was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Coming up, Richfield will welcome Delta at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Manti does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
