Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask George Washington). They blew past the Bassett Bengals 86-39 on Tuesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bengals are ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bassett's loss came despite strong showings from Isaiah Perkins and Zyreak Manns. Perkins posted nine points, while Manns earned eight points.

George Washington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Bassett, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

George Washington will be playing in front of their home fans against Martinsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bassett, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Abingdon at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th.
