Softball Recap: Tyngsborough Continues Road Dominance on Monday

It was a proper cat-fight when Tyngsborough challenged Quabbin Regional on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 13-3. Considering the Tigers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kiley Hogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kristin Deschenes, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Kaelyn DiMento was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Tyngsborough kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

Tyngsborough's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Quabbin Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tyngsborough will host Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Quabbin Regional, they will be playing at home against Leicester at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
