Volleyball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Newberry Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Anijah Goss paced Eastside's offense, picking up seven kills. Goss got some help from Laelia Torres and her four assists. Finally, Ciara Brooks kept Eastside's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Newberry, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will welcome North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newberry, they will challenge Union County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
