Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Warriors vs. IDEA Sports Park Stingrays

The Santa Rosa Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the IDEA Sports Park Stingrays at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Santa Rosa's defense has only allowed 26.6 points per game this season, so IDEA Sports Park's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Santa Rosa will bounce into Friday's match after beating Raymondville, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. Santa Rosa put the hurt on Raymondville with a sharp 50-28 victory on Tuesday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Santa Rosa found their leader in sophomore Aiden Garcia, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Garcia has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bea Garza, who put up ten points.

IDEA Sports Park played against Rio Hondo and lost via forfeit.

IDEA Sports Park's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Santa Rosa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

Santa Rosa came up short against IDEA Sports Park in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 35-26. Can Santa Rosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
