Baseball Recap: Vinton County Takes a Loss

Vinton County managed to slip by Wellston the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings lost 11-1 to the Golden Rockets on Friday. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Rockets earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Vinton County's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wellston, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Vinton County will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trimble at 5:00 p.m. on May 5. As for Wellston, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-3 loss against Athens on the 28th.
