Baseball Game Preview: San Fernando Tigers vs. Garfield Bulldogs

The San Fernando Tigers will take on the Garfield Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Poly hit San Fernando with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parrots. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Parrots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

San Fernando saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mario Miranda, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Rommeml Molina, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Garfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Kennedy 3-1.

Garfield pushed their record up to 16-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for San Fernando, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

San Fernando might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Garfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
