Softball Recap: Springfield's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Springfield came out on top against Elmwood on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Royals. The win was some much needed relief for the Blue Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The victory got Springfield back to even at 8-8. As for Elmwood, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Springfield is taking a road trip to challenge Clay at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Elmwood, they will be playing at home against Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
