Basketball Recap: Mira Monte's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shafter, Mira Monte was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They snuck past the Antelope Valley Antelopes with a 49-44 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Antelope Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Houston, who posted 13 points. Malik Washington was another key player, putting up eight points.

Mira Monte's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Antelope Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Mira Monte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-44 victory against Chavez on the 2nd. Antelope Valley has also already played their next game, a 54-41 win against Lancaster Baptist on the 2nd.
