Baseball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline was the 8-3 winner over Mesquite when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell just short of the Skeeters by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Skyline's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Mesquite, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-6-1.

Coming up, Skyline will challenge Waxahachie at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mesquite, they will venture away from home to take on Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Skeeters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
