Softball Game Preview: Miss Porter's vs. Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars

Miss Porter will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Miss Porter's is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Ethel Walker. Miss Porter's was the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over Ethel Walker on Saturday.

Gwendolyn Religa made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Religa was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Bevivino, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Anya Webb, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Meanwhile, Choate Rosemary Hall School gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They never let Greens Farms Academy get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.
