Volleyball Recap: Windermere Comes Up Short

Windermere and Apopka squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Windermere had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Blue Darters by a score of 3-2. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Darters earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Elijah Ihnenfeld paced Windermere's offense, picking up 17 kills. Ihnenfeld got some help from Bruno Perez and his 42 assists. Perez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Windermere has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season. As for Apopka, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-11.

Windermere does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Apopka, they will take on West Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Blue Darters surely won't give up without a fight.
