Soccer Game Preview: Manor New Tech vs. La Grange

Manor New Tech will square off against the La Grange Leopards at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Manor New Tech had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least four goals, but Salado put an end to it on Friday. Manor New Tech fell just short of Salado by a score of 2-1. Manor New Tech's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was La Grange who was credited with the win on Friday. La Grange got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Rockdale's three.

Jeffrey Cabrera was the driving force of La Grange's attack as he scored both of La Grange's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

La Grange is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matchups. As for Manor New Tech, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.

Manor New Tech took their victory against La Grange in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Manor New Tech repeat their success, or does La Grange have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
