Basketball Recap: C.B. Aycock Extends Winning Streak to Five

C.B. Aycock came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 64-49 win over the Hunt Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-49 back in December of 2024.

C.B. Aycock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Monte' Broadie led the charge by going 5-for-7 en route to 15 points and five steals. Broadie continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jarvis Williams was another key player, going 7-for-13 to rack up 19 points along with six boards and three steals.

C.B. Aycock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hunt lost, don't look at AJ Hampton. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Hampton is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Na'sir Hines, who posted 11 points.

C.B. Aycock's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points over those games. As for Hunt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.

C.B. Aycock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-40 win against Southern Wayne on the 14th. As for Hunt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-47 victory against Fike on the 14th.
