Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Gregory Dotson and Marcus Browder Lead Hammond Central to Victory

Hammond Central won the last time they faced Andrean and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hammond Central Wolves came out on top against the Andrean Fighting 59ers by a score of 67-59. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Leading Hammond Central to victory were Marcus Browder and Gregory Dotson. Browder dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten assists, while Dotson on his way to 20 points and seven assists. Dotson's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Semaj Davis, who posted nine points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Hammond Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Hammond Central pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Andrean, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Hammond Central will take on Valparaiso at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valparaiso is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Andrean, they will face off against Wheeler at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
