Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Fabiana Ames Castillo and Rose Ciccolella Lead Dunellen to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brearley, Dunellen was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Keyport Raiders by a score of 28-21. That's more bragging rights for the Destroyers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dunellen was led to victory by Rose Ciccolella and Fabiana Ames Castillo. Ciccolella almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards, while Ames Castillo posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Those 11 rebounds gave Ciccolella a new career-high. Fernanda Ames Castillo also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Dunellen's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Keyport, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Looking ahead, Dunellen will welcome Calvary Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Keyport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
