Baseball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Cheraw Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Wednesday.

Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Branham, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Branham also put up a run, which was his first of the season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Cheraw, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Central will challenge North Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cheraw, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m.
