Basketball Game Preview: Uplift Titans vs. Mather Rangers

Two dominant guards in Tysean Davis and Adin Smajlovic are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Uplift Titans will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Mather Rangers at 2:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Uplift lost to Little Village on the road by a 74-60 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (58), the Titans still had to take the loss.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rodrick Winston, who posted 18 points. The game was his third in a row with at least 18 points. Jordan Williams was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Mather sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-60 win over Chicago Sullivan on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Uplift's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Mather, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.

Uplift was dealt a bruising 61-26 loss at the hands of Mather in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Uplift was down 38-9.
