Baseball Recap: Fenwick Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

The Fenwick Friars came up short against Chicago Hope Academy on Friday and fell 9-6.

Fenwick got a good showing from Jeremy Munoz, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Munoz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, JJ Obaldo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Fenwick: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-12-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Andrew Henderson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Fenwick's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-14-1. As for Chicago Hope Academy, their record now sits at 22-11.

Looking ahead, Fenwick will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Aurora Central Catholic at 11:00 a.m. The Friars are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they will challenge Von Steuben at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
