Baseball Recap: Roy Comes Up Short

Roy extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 6-13. They came up short against the Fremont Wolves, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-9 defeat on Wednesday.

As for Fremont, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games.

For Fremont's part, Hunter Maycock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Maycock was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Fremont let Kasen Pearson and Landon Palmer run wild. Pearson went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Palmer went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Crew Hudman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Roy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Northridge on the 21st. As for Fremont, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-4 loss against West Field on the 21st.
