Los Lunas is a perfect 4-0 against Atrisco Heritage Academy since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Los Lunas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Albuquerque, who was ranked fifth at the time (Los Lunas was ranked 13th). The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Los Lunas was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Atrisco Heritage Academy came up short against Albuquerque on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Jaguars have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Atrisco Heritage Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Albuquerque's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-9, 25-18.

Los Lunas' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-8. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Los Lunas took their victory against Atrisco Heritage Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
