St. Mary is 9-1 against Salem since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Witches at 5:30 p.m. St. Mary's is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

St. Mary's will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Bishop Fenwick, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Spartans walked away with a 3-1 win over the Crusaders on Thursday.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Salem and Beverly, and Salem kept the tradition alive. The Witches put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday.

Salem was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-15.

St. Mary's record now sits at 11-8. As for Salem, their record is now an identical 11-8.

St. Mary's beat Salem 3-1 when the teams last played last Thursday. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Witches' Yanalis Ventura, who had 25 digs and six aces.
