Baseball Recap: South Central Comes Up Short

South Central had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-10 to make it seven. They lost 16-0 to the Boone Grove Wolves. If the Satellites were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Boone Grove, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs.

For Boone Grove's part, Seth Pitcock was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Pitcock has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Boone Grove: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davian Carrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Tristan Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Central will head out to square off against Winamac at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Satellites' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Boone Grove, they are taking a road trip to challenge Valparaiso at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
